Dante in Translation (ITAL 310)

This lecture deals primarily with Cantos XIX and XXVI of Inferno. Simony, the sin punished in Inferno XIX, is situated historically to point out the contiguity of the sacred and the profane and its relevance to the prophetic voice Dante established in this canto. The fine line between prophecy and profanation is shown to resurface in Inferno XXIV and XXV, where the poet falls prey, as did the pilgrim in Inferno IV, to poetic hubris. Once again, the dangers of Dante's poetic vocation are dramatized in the canto that immediately follows. In Inferno XXVI, Dante's tragic revision of the journey of Ulysses is shown to offset his own poetic enterprise, while acknowledging its risks.

Guest lecturer Professor David Lummus discusses Purgatory XXIV-XXVI. On the terraces of gluttony and lust, the pilgrim's encounters with masters of the Italian love lyric give rise to the Comedy's most sustained treatment of poetics. Through Dante's older contemporary Bonagiunta (Purgatory XXIV), the pilgrim distinguishes the poetic style of his youth from that of the courtly love tradition pursued by his interlocutor. In Purgatory XXVI, Dante reinforces his own poetic genealogy through his encounter with Guido Guinizelli, founder of the Sweet New Style of poetry he crafted in his youth. The interpretative key to the language of paternity and filiation that pervades these cantos is found in Purgatory XXV, where Statius' embryological exposition of the divine creation of the soul conveys the divinity of poetic inspiration.

This lecture covers Paradise XXIV-XXVI. In the Heaven of the Fixed Stars, Dante is examined on the three theological virtues by the apostles associated with each: St. Peter with faith (Paradise XXIV), St. James with hope (Paradise XXV), and St. John with love (Paradise XXVI). While mastering these virtues is irrelevant to the elect, it is crucial to the message of reform the pilgrim-turned-poet will relay on his return home. Dante's scholastic profession of faith before St. Peter (Paradise XXIV) is read testament to the complication of faith and reason. The second of the theological virtues is discussed in light of the classical disparagement of hope as a form of self-deception and its redemption by the biblical tradition through the story of Exodus, the archetype of Dante's journey. The pilgrim's three-part examination continues in Paradise XXVI under the auspices of St. John, where love, the greatest of the virtues is distinguished by its elusiveness. The emphasis on love's resistance to formal definition sets the stage for the pilgrim's encounter with Adam, who sheds light on the linguistic consequences of the Fall.

Dante in Translation (ITAL 310)

Professor Mazzotta begins this lecture by recapitulating the ambivalent nature of Ulysses' sin and its relevance to Dante's poetic project. Inferno XXVII is then read in conjunction with the preceding canto. The antithetical relationship between Dante's false counselors, Ulysses and Guido da Montefeltro, anchors an overarching discussion of the relationship between rhetoric and politics. The latter half of the lecture is devoted to Inferno XXVIII, where Dante's preeminent sower of discord, Bertran de Born, introduces the principle of the contrapasso. The law of retribution that governs Dante's Inferno is discussed in light of classical and contemporary theories of justice/crime and punishment. In conclusion, the opening of Inferno XXIX is read as a retrospective gloss on the limitations of retributive justice.

This is a video on strategies and tactics to make money as a commercial photographer. Here we discuss the notion of creating a model for your business. Specifically, modeling includes determining what area of commercial photography you specialize in, how you will find your customers and deliver value.
In this video, I stress to not invent new ideas; instead steal great concepts that work! I also discuss the customer experience, credibility and delivering great value to your customers. As a commercial photographer, think about how the Client will perceive you. Get insurance, write clear quotes, establish a well-positioned niche, get a studio (don’t work in your basement or garage) and cold call!!!
Aw yes, cold call. Cold calling is one of the best ways you can grow your commercial photography business. Seek businesses that require the services you are most apt at delivering, find your contacts via LinkedIn, and call them directly. The best customers I have are those I found through calling!

Jewellery photography can seem daunting — the products are generally small and reflections can make it very difficult to get a good shot — but by remembering the techniques covered here, you should be able to get some great results.

1. Think about your background and props
2. Clean your jewellery before shooting
3. Use a tripod
4. Experiment with lighting
5. Minimise reflections

Remember, you don’t need endless lights or expensive modifiers, both jewellery shots could easily have been achieved with a single point light source. It’s an understanding of lighting and technique that will result in a good shot (along with careful planning and preparation). So next time you’re photographing jewellery, keep these points in mind and you should find the process easier than you thought.

الجميع يبحث عن طرق للربح من الإنترنت ولكن بسبب ارتباط هذه الكلمة مع الكثير من تجارب الربح الفاشلة لدى البعض اصبح الربح من الإنترنت مجرد كذبة و ضرب من الخيال, ولكن كل هذا بسبب العناوين الكاذبة مثل اربح في الشهر 5000 دولار بكل سهولة التي نجدها في كثير من الموقع و المدونات للأسف, و يكون الهدف منها جلب زيارات لا اكثر و عند الدخول إلى الموضوع إما ان تجد الطريقة مستحيلة او شرح لا فائدة منه, ولكن موضوع اليوم هو ليس عنوان كاذب او شرح لا فائدة منه بل هو عبارة عن تجربة واقعية تلامس الحقيقة الصعبة في الحصول على الوظائف في بعض الدول العربية, و شرح اليوم هو عبارة عن كيفية ربح 20 دولار و اكثر و هذا يعتمد على الجهد الذي سوف تبذله و الطريقة ليست بالبحث عن شركات و اختصار الروابط او الضغط على الإعلانات فهذه تسمى مضيعة للوقت على حسب رأيي, بل الشرح سوف يكون عبارة عن وقت قصير تبذله و ربح وفير فهو موجه لصانعي المحتوى و المترجمين و المصممين و خبراء انظمة التشغيل و كل الفئات بحيث سوف نعتمد على كتابة المواضيع و الربح منها
1. لمن سوف نرسل المقالات؟
ج: سوف يتم إرسال المقالات لأكاديمة حسوب

2. ما هو اقل سعر للمقال؟
ج: أقل سعر يدفع للموضوع هو 10$

3. من اين اجلب المقالات؟
ج: عالم الإنترنت واسع و يوجد الاف المواقع فكل ما عليك فعله هو الترجمة و إعادة الصياغة

4. ماهي المجالات التي استطيع الكتابة فيها؟
ج: المجالات هي ( التصميم بمُختلف أدواته وتخصصاته , ريادة الاعمال, العمل الحر, التسويق و المبيعات, لينكس ...إلخ).

5. كيف يتم إرسال المقالات؟
ج: عبر نموضج اتصل بنا و يكون نبذة عن المقال (أو المقال كاملا إن كنت لا تُمانع) مع رابط لحسابك على موقع مُستقل او خمسات

6. كيف يتم إرسال المبلغ؟
ج: يتم التعامل إما في موقع خمسات او موقع مستقل و انا فضل مستقل لإنه يأخذ عمولة 15% اما خمسات يأخذ عمولة 20%
نصائح قبل و بعد

قبل الموافقة
- حاول ان تكون المقدمة خالية من الاخطاء الإملائية
- ركز على علامات التشكيل مثل ( يمكن تكتب هكذا يُمكن بحيث وضعنا " ُ" )
- قبل الشروع بترجمة المقال كاملاً ترجم منه فقرة و ارسلها
- قم بإعادة صياغته ليصبح المقال مفهوم للقاريء
- ترجمة المُصطلحات بشكل دقيق

بعد الموافقة
- الاخطاء اللغوية والنحوية غير مقبولة ابداً داخل الموقع ,استخدم محرر النصوص Ms Word - يفي بالغرض .

- حاول ان يكون المقال جديد و ابداعي, بحيث سوف يرتفع اجره
- قم بعمل مُجلد لوضع صور المقال فيه
- انشيء حساب على مستقل او خمسات حتى يتم إستلام الارباح
- تقديم ترجمة خالية من الأخطاء اللّغوية والإملائية

إثبات استلام الارباح

و الان اقوم بكتابة 10 مواضيع و الميزانية للموضوع الواحد هي 20 دولار اي 200 دولار المجموع الكلي
و المواضيع تنتهي في 10 ايام او اقل و ليس من الضروري ان تترجم مقالات فيمكنك كتابة مواضيع من عندك على حسب خبرتك و لو كتبت يوميا مقالين او ثلاث مقالات سوف تربح اكثر من 20 دولار فالمقال ترجمته تأخذ ساعيتن او ثلاث ساعات

اتمنى ان يكون هذا الموضوع افاد الضائعين في أسواق عالم الربح من الإنترنت
و الذين لا يعرفون اي طريق يسلكون او إلى اي ركن يلجؤون, و ان يكون الخطوة الاولى في تحقيق الربح من الإنترنت بالشكل الصحيح و إذا اعجبك الموضوع لا تنسا مشاركته مع اصدقائك

The final cantos of Inferno are read with a view to the role of the tragic within Dante's Comedy. Using Dante's discussion of tragedy in the De vulgari eloquentia as a point of departure, Professor Mazzotta traces the disintegration of language that accompanies the pilgrim's descent into the pit of Hell, the zone of treachery, from the distorted speech of Nimrod in Inferno XXXI to the silence of Satan in Inferno XXXIV. The ultimate triumph of comedy over tragedy is dramatized by the pilgrim's ascent, by means of Lucifer, onto the shores of Mount Purgatory.

This lecture deals with Dante's representation of the Earthly Paradise at the summit of Mount Purgatory. The quest for freedom begun under the aegis of Cato in Purgatory I reaches its denouement at the threshold of Eden, where Virgil proclaims the freedom of the pilgrim's will (Purgatory XXVII). Left with pleasure as his guide, the pilgrim nevertheless falls short of a second Adam in his encounter with Matelda. His lingering susceptibility to earthly delights is underscored at the arrival of Beatrice (Purgatory XXX) whose harsh treatment of the pilgrim is read as a retrospective gloss on the dream of the Siren in Purgatory XIX. By dramatizing his character's failings within the Earthly Paradise, Dante replaces the paradigm of conversion as a once-for-all event with that of an ongoing process to be continued in Paradise under the guidance of Beatrice.

Dante in Translation (ITAL 310)

In this lecture, Professor Mazzotta moves from the terrace of pride (Purgatory X-XII) to the terrace of wrath (Purgatory XVI-XVII). The relationship between art and pride, introduced in the previous lecture in the context of Canto X, is pursued along theological lines in the cantos immediately following. The "ludic theology" Dante embraces in these cantos resurfaces on the terrace of wrath, where Marco Lombardo's speech on the traditional problem of divine foreknowledge and human freedom highlights the playfulness of God's creation. The motifs of human and divine creation explored thus far are shown to converge at the numerical center of the poem (Purgatory XVII) in Dante's apostrophe to the imagination.

Dante in Translation (ITAL 310)

In this lecture, Professor Mazzotta discusses Inferno IX-XI. An impasse at the entrance to the City of Dis marks Virgil's first failure in his role as guide (Inferno IX). The invocation of Medusa by the harpies that descend while they wait for divine aid elicits Dante's first address to the reader. The question of literary mediation, posed in the previous lecture in the context of Inferno V, is explored further, and the distinction Dante draws between the "allegory of poets" and the "allegory of theologians" is introduced. Inferno X is read with a view to the uniqueness of the sin it deals with - heresy. The philosophical errors of the shades encountered here, Farinata and Cavalcante, are tied to the political turmoil they prophecy for Florence. From the disorder of the earthly city, Dante moves on to the order on its infernal counterpart, mapped by Virgil in Inferno XI. The moral system of Dante's Hell is then discussed with a view to its classical antecedents.

Hi. I'm Rebecca from engVid. In this pronunciation lesson, you're going to learn the many different ways in which we pronounce the letters "on" when they appear in words. Okay? The letters "on" appear at the beginning of words, sometimes in the middle, and very often at the end. And we're going to focus on how we pronounce those letters when they appear in these different positions. Okay?

But first I want you to do a little pre-test to see how you're pronouncing them right now. Okay? And I am so excited about this lesson because I know that lots of people make some mistakes here, but maybe not you, so let's check. Okay? The first word I want you to say out loud, wherever you are, is this one. Okay? Next, say this word. Good. The third word. And the last word. Okay? All right.

So, let's go back. Say the first word again. Okay? Now I'm going to say it. The word is "online". So, here, the letters "on" appeared at the beginning, and we pronounced it like the word itself: "on". Okay? So, we pronounced it here as "on". Okay? Probably you got that right. Most people do, because if you can pronounce the word "on", when "on" appears at the beginning, you're usually pronouncing it properly. All right.

How did you pronounce this one? Say it again. Okay. Now I'll say it: "Amazon". So, what happened here? "Online", "Amazon". We're also pronouncing it pretty much like this. All right? So you probably got this right, and you probably got this right. "Amazon". Okay?

But now say this one. Okay. So, what happened here to the letters "on"? This word is pronounced "son", like a son and daughter. Right? We write "on", but we don't say "on"; we say it like: "sun". Right? So, sometimes when "on" appears at the end of a word, it's pronounced "un", so many people get that wrong sometimes, but sometimes not.

What about this one? "Washington". Okay? That's what you should say. You should say: "Washington". Listen again: "Washington", "tin". Am I saying "ton"? No. Am I saying: "tun"? No. Am I saying: "tin"? Yes. So, what's happening - that "on" gets connected here to the "t"-right?-and becomes shortened or reduced, and it sounds like this. Now, you're wondering: What is this? This letter in the International Phonetic Alphabet is called a schwa. And what a schwa is, it's a very quick, short sound; it's a reduced sound, and it sounds a little bit like: "uh", "uh". So, here, it becomes "un", "un"; not "ton", but "tin": "Washingtin". That's what you should be saying when you say the name of this place. Okay? And that is definitely an area where many students - maybe not you - many students make mistakes.

And that's the main area of our focus in this lesson. We will be reviewing all of them, but especially this. Why? Because look at the many different situations in which we have "on" at the end of words; we have it in the names of people, like "Bill", what is it? "Clinton". Right. "George Harrison". Not: "Harrison"; "Harrisin". "Clin"... Not: "Clinton"; "Clintin". Okay? Good. Places: "Boston". Repeat after me: "Lisbon". Good. And many other words-okay?-that happen to end in "on", like: "reason"; not "reason" - "reasin".

"Million". Now, here's a word that lots of people actually mispronounce. They tend to say: "million", because they're thinking of "on". It's not your fault, okay? You see "on", and so you think you should be pronouncing it like "on", but unfortunately at the end of words, it changes. That's why I'm here. Okay? To help you out. All right.

We also have words that end in "on", but have "tion" endings or "sion" endings. Repeat after me: "action", "vision". Okay? All right. So, in the next few minutes you are going to master this. And if you make mistakes, you will not make a mistake again; and as a result, you will correct hundreds of words that actually fall into this category. Okay? And, in fact, afterwards I'm going to give you a resource which you can read and practice to really master this with lots and lots of words which follow these patterns. But first let's warm up a little bit by reviewing this part, and then we'll get to the last part. Okay? See you in a minute.

Professor Mazzotta introduces students to the Divine Comedy, focusing on the first four cantos of Inferno. Stylistic, thematic and formal features of the poem are discussed in the context of its original title, Comedy. The first canto is read to establish the double voice of the poet-pilgrim and to contrast the immanent journey with those described by Dante's literary precursors. Among these is the pilgrim's guide, Virgil. The following cantos are read with special attention to the ways in which Dante positions his poem vis-à-vis the classical tradition. The novelty of Dante's otherworldly journey is here addressed in terms of the relationship, introduced in the previous lecture in the context of the Vita nuova, between love and knowledge or, more precisely, between their respective faculties, will and intellect.

This lecture focuses on the middle zone of Inferno, the area of violence (Inferno XII-XVI). Introductory remarks are made on the concentration of hybrid creatures in this area of Hell and followed by a close reading of cantos XIII and XV. The pilgrim's encounter with Pier delle Vigne (Inferno XIII) is placed in literary context (Aeneid III). The questioning of authority staged in this scene resurfaces in the circle of sodomy (Inferno XV), where the pilgrim's encounter with his teacher, Brunetto Latini, is read as a critique of the humanistic values he embodied.

By leveraging these ICT technologies, a new on-demand economy is being created, where professional activities broken into discrete assignments are offered to a virtual cloud of aspiring workers. This industry, often referred to as online outsourcing, is expected to generate gross service revenue between $15 billion and $25 billion by 2020.

Major chunk of this online outsourcing industry is being taken by individuals having necessary and relevant skills required to complete these temporary assignments and project or contract-based work. Millions of individuals around the world are tapping into the opportunity and earning money while working from the comfort of their homes. This trend is expected to grow as the creative destruction caused by fourth industrial wave continues to disrupt business processes and models.

Pakistan is the world’s fourth largest provider of online freelancers with estimated registered number of online freelancers ranging in several hundreds of thousands. Most of the work done is for international clients; therefore, money earned by them is brought into the country, mainly as foreign remittances. While accurate data on money brought by freelancers is not available, estimates range from $ 500 Million to $ 1.3 Billion annually.

This amount is just a fraction of the country’s potential as, with its large population, increasing internet connectivity, broadband penetration, young and educated youth, thousands of IT graduates and million-plus enrolled university students, Pakistan can increase the number of freelancer’s manifold. This will help bring invaluable foreign exchange into the country, and more importantly, reduce unemployment as the number of fresh graduates passing out every year is a lot more than the number of new jobs created.

This large scale national Digital Skills (DigiSkills) Training Program has been launched, across the country, to train one (1) million people in the future of work using technology.
Therefore, this large scale national Digital Skills (DigiSkills) Training Program, which was conceived by the Minister of IT and Telecom, has been launched across the country, to train one (1) million people in the future of work using technology. Virtual University of Pakistan has been selected to execute this mega training program under the auspices of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom through Ignite- National Technology Fund (formerly National ICT R&D Fund). The DigiSkills Program is aimed at equipping our youth, freelancers, students, housewives, professionals, etc. with knowledge, skills, tools & techniques necessary to seize the opportunities available internationally in online marketplaces as well as locally to earn a decent living.

The program aims at not only developing key specialized skills, but also imparting knowledge about various freelancing and other employment and entrepreneurial opportunities available internationally and locally. Homophones are words that have the same pronunciation but completely different meanings. For example, “be” and “bee” sound exactly the same, but the first is a verb, and the second is the name of an insect. Because the pronunciation is identical, we rely on context and spelling to understand the word. The best way to remember homophones is to practice them. You’ve come to the right place! In this lesson, I will teach you 17 pairs of homophones. Each pair will have a verb, like “hear”, “be”, “wait”, “chews”, “bare”, “hire”. And for each verb, there will be a homophone that means something completely different. Together, we will try to make funny word games, which we call “puns” or “dad jokes”. Do you usually find fast food photos attractive and want to visit some restaurants to eat a delicious burger from a picture? Today we prepared a new collection of food commercial secrets that will blow your mind! Most people don’t know that it’s highly difficult to make attractive photos of fast food. That’s why marketing specialists have a lot of secrets and use various techniques to make amazing photos. Moreover, food photographers replace some fast food ingredients with shaving foam, glue and hair spray.
You will be surprised but mozzarella sauce is usually replaced with glue as it looks better on photos and it’s easier to work with this material. Moreover, when you see a beautiful photo of cereals with milk, remember that milk is replaced with white glue. The reason is that cereals should remain on the surface while the photos are making. Ice cubes are replaced with plastic ones. Berries are always covered with hair spray as it adds shine to them and they look perfectly fresh. Moreover, photographers usually cover strawberries with red lipstick and look so beautiful and attractive. It’s highly difficult to make a beautiful phono of noodles and usually photographers cover noodles with glucose syrup.
French fries look very disappointing in real life. There is a whole process of how to make French fries look attractive: kitchen sponge and toothpicks are used to secure fries for making a photo.

Professor Rae discusses Aravind Adiga's novel The White Tiger. The novel reveals the difficulties developing countries face dismantling entrenched inequalities. Corruption and chronic rent-seeking behavior can be major obstacles. Other aspects of the novel, including India's religious history, the role of caste structure, and entrepreneurialism, are also explored. Links are made between themes from the novel and previous class discussions on the nature of capitalism.

سوف نتطرق إلى واحدة من أكبر مجالات البيزنس في العالم وهو مجال التسويق العقاري، إلى جانب استعراض أفصل وأهم طرق النجاح في التسويق العقاري عبر الإنترنت لتحقيق مزيد من مبيعات العقارات في أي مكان.

أولًا/ ماهو المقصود بالتسويق العقاري؟
التسويق العقاري بمفهومه الشامل هو عبارة عن ثلاث مراحل أو عمليات أو خطوات محورية و أساسية؛ الخطوة الأولى هي عملية إيجاد الفرصة العقارية والتي يقصد بها إمتلاك العقار الذي سوف تعمل على التسويق والترويج له من أجل الربح عن طريق بيعه، وهذا يتم إما عن طريق شراء العقار أو بنائه وتأسيسه من البداية. أما الخطوة الثانية وهي الخطوة المحورية في التسويق العقاري وهي هملية الترويج العقاري؛ والتي يُقصد بها الترويج للعقار وخصائصه ومميزاته التي تجعله مرغوب الشراء من الجميع حتى يحصل المسوق العقاري على الربح المطلوب؛ بينما تتمثل الخطوة الثالثة في عملية إتمام الصفقة، أي إتمام البيع بشرط خروج كافة أطرف العملية رابحون حتى يُحكم على عملية التسويق العقاري هذه بالنجاح والفاعلية.

ثانيًا/ اهم طرق النجاح في التسويق العقاري عبر الإنترنت
لكي تحقق النجاح المرغوب في التسويق العقاري الإلكتروني؛ هناك مجموعة من الشروط والمقومات الواجب توافرها؛ والتي تتمثل في التالي:

1- إمتلاك نطاق “Domain” على الإنترنت
يأتي شراء أو امتلاك اسم نطاق خاص بك على شبكة الإنترنت كخطوة أولية وضرورية لبدء نشاط التسويق العقاري الإلكتروني، وهو ما يعرف كذلك بالـ”Domain” الخاص بموقعك على شبكة الإنترنت.

4- التكامل بين طرق التسويق الإلكتروني والتسويق التقليدي
واحدة من أهم مقومات واستراتيجيات النجاح في التسويق العقاري الإلكتروني عبر الإنترنت؛ هي الدمج وتحقيق التكامل بين استراتيجيات وطرق التسويق الإلكتروني واستراتيجيات وطرق التسويق التقليدية التي أشرنا إليها في الفقرات السابقة.

5- توفير عروض تقديمية جذابة ومفيدة
واحدة من المقومات الهامة التي يغفلها كثير من أصحاب مواقع التسويق العقاري، والتي تسهم بشكل فعال في تحقيق النجاح المرغوب في التسويق العقاري الإلكتروني؛ هي توفير عروض تقديمية احترافية وجذابة ومفيدة للمستخدمين وزوار الموقع الإلكتروني؛ والتي تدور حول كيفية الاستفادة من الموقع سواء في بيع عقاراتهم أو التسويق لها وكذلك في حالة الرغبة في الشراء والحصول على العقار المناسب.

6- إمداد العملاء بالمعلومات العقارية عن طريق المدونات
واحدة من العوامل والمقومات التي أثبتت بقوة فعاليتها وقدرتها الهائلة على النجاح في التسويق العقاري الإلكتروني في الآونة الأخيرة، هو إمداد العملاء سواء الحالينن او المحتملين بأفكار ومعلومات ذات صلة بنشاطك من خلال إنشاء وإمتلاك مدونة خاصة على موقع الويب الخاص بشركة العقارات.
