Virtual reality devices have been introduced multiple times in the video game era, but they never seem to stick. But why is that? To try to answer this question we’re going to trace the origins of virtual reality all the way from panoramic paintings in 12th century China to the present and hopefully it will better inform what the future holds for this gaming technology.
