Tailoring your resume for the job you're applying for is one of the most important things you're going to do. Every employer, for every opportunity that's out there, is going to be receiving hundreds, if not thousands, of resumes. So it's your job to make sure that this resume highlights specifically what kinds of experiences you have, what kind of skills you have, relative to the job you're applying for. I want you to go onto the website of every single company you're applying to. I want you to read the language. What kind of words do they use to describe their business? You want to use those words to describe the experiences you've had. Don't be worried about being a copy cat. This is actually a really important process so that the employer sees the match between you. It's your job to make that connection, so that the employer says, "Oh my gosh! Yes. You are the perfect person for this job." And the only way they're going to be able to do that is if you target your resume.
