In order to retain your PMP certification, you must earn 60 PMP PDUs in every three years. After earning these PDUs, you must claim them in your PMI profile and then start PMP renewal process after completing 60 PDUs.
Considering 1 PDU is equivalent to 1 hour of professional activity (seminar, conference, gathering ... etc.), it is not easy to complete 60 PMP PDUs especially if you are full-time working professional. Either you have to attend in-person project management related courses or activities or you should contribute to the project management profession such as authoring a book, giving a presentation etc.
