This course is focused on the theory and mindset of network operations, the mindset an engineer must have to effectively interpret business needs to technology solutions and when things break, how to effectively find the root cause and fix it. We’ll start off with understanding the differences between IOS and IOS XE. What CEF is, its components and how to optimize it. Then we’ll look at different traffic flows, like TCP, UDP and IP and the different issues and components that make each unique. As engineers, we are often called upon to evaluate business needs and offer technical solutions. Understanding what the business needs and mapping that to a technical solution isn’t always easy, we’ll take a look at a few examples and what you should take into consideration. We’ll wrap up with understanding different network troubleshooting tools. Identifying how to detect an issue, trace down its origin effectively and resolve the issue. Not every possible scenario is discussed here, this course is more geared to help you with the above areas of networking.
